The first week of the year is almost over…

Are you happy with the way your New Year has started?? Sticking to your 30 day challenge??  Following through with your New Year’s resolutions.  Doctors say (or somebody told me once) that most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions after the first 2 weeks, some people even sooner!  So how do we stop ourselves from giving up on ourselves??

The answer is easy!  KEEP TRYING and if that doesn’t work TRY HARDER!  And be patient 🙂  So many of us do not give ourselves a chance to get results or develop a new habit as we want things to happen RIGHT AWAY!  Well guess what that’s not the way things work!  Think about it-it took you however many years (for me 28 years) to develop the habits and lifestyle  you have and fitness level you’re at that if you want to see changes in your body or make some adjustments to your lifestyle it is going to take time!

So many times during consultation with new clients I hear them say things like “I just want to lose the last 10 pounds” or “I just want to get in better shape” or “I want to lose a few inches off my waist”.  These are all great goals but at the end of the day you should be focusing less on the numbers on the scale and the inches around your waist and focus more on develop habits that will help us to live a healthier lifestyle.  THEN when all the pieces of the puzzle come together (proper diet, consistent workout regime, less stress and adequate sleep) you will have that body you always wanted and you will feel AMAZING!

My goal with every client is to encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle…some people can adopt this attitude or way of thinking/living in 6 months, 12 months, 3 years some unfortunately never as they quite frankly don’t care or don’t want to or think the y can’t .  If you are one of these people I strongly encourage you to try just a bit harder and tell yourself I CAN DO IT!  I  firmly believe that focusing on choosing to live  a healthy lifestyle is the BEST way to get results, be happy with yourself, gain confidence and you will stay that way!
